Summary

Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher or a colleague。 Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, and gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it。 For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly twenty years ago。

Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded。 Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you?

Mitch Albom had that second chance。 He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life。 Knowing he was dying of ALS - or motor neurone disease - Mitch visited Morrie in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college。 Their rekindled relationship turned into one final 'class': lessons in how to live。

I listened to this book on audio。 I liked the end with the additional original audio of Morrie。 This is a thoughtful piece and very meaningful。 If only we all lived from the perspective of Morrie。 What an inspiring man。

This was a re-read for me。 I believe the last time I read this book was in high school and I found it very insightful。 This time reading this book, I gave it a rating of 8。57 (4/5 stars) because I enjoyed the atmosphere, plot, intrigue, and logic of the book。 The fatal flaw of the book to me was actually Morrie - a character I just felt was too good to be true and who just spewed out quotes。 I'm sure this isn't true of the actual Morrie whom this book is based on, but I believe that the writing This was a re-read for me。 I believe the last time I read this book was in high school and I found it very insightful。 This time reading this book, I gave it a rating of 8。57 (4/5 stars) because I enjoyed the atmosphere, plot, intrigue, and logic of the book。 The fatal flaw of the book to me was actually Morrie - a character I just felt was too good to be true and who just spewed out quotes。 I'm sure this isn't true of the actual Morrie whom this book is based on, but I believe that the writing of this novel did him a disservice with how the book was written。 It's a short read though and worth it to be reminded of the important things in life as recollected by a dying man。 It is a beautiful read and I'd recommend it to anyone who might be going through a hard time and needs that simple reminder to love。 。。。more

A short read for a rainy day。 A pretty typical memoir。

I loved the story。 I cried many times reading it。 Morrie is one of the cutest old dude I’ve ever read about, I even miss him now that he’s gone。 The message was loud and clear, and it really makes you wonder about life’s meaning in a slightly better way than self help books do。 The other characters in the book were sort of。。。 lifeless。 They didn’t leave much of an impression。 The only character that FELT real was Morrie。 Which is a shame because there was so much more potential there。 This could I loved the story。 I cried many times reading it。 Morrie is one of the cutest old dude I’ve ever read about, I even miss him now that he’s gone。 The message was loud and clear, and it really makes you wonder about life’s meaning in a slightly better way than self help books do。 The other characters in the book were sort of。。。 lifeless。 They didn’t leave much of an impression。 The only character that FELT real was Morrie。 Which is a shame because there was so much more potential there。 This could’ve been even more touching if the narrator had been fleshed out a bit more。 。。。more

easily one of the most poignant & heartwarming narratives i’ve ever read。 confronts issues of death, money, love, forgiveness, and compassion with simple mantras that sink deep into your heart & sit with you for the days to follow。 reading this narrative made me adore morrie, an elderly professor and friend to many。 i understood the fragility of life in a manner i hadn’t considered before, but simultaneously gained an appreciation of the importance and value lying in the present moment。 i hope t easily one of the most poignant & heartwarming narratives i’ve ever read。 confronts issues of death, money, love, forgiveness, and compassion with simple mantras that sink deep into your heart & sit with you for the days to follow。 reading this narrative made me adore morrie, an elderly professor and friend to many。 i understood the fragility of life in a manner i hadn’t considered before, but simultaneously gained an appreciation of the importance and value lying in the present moment。 i hope to be as foundational of a teacher as morrie to push forward a new generation of empowered & empathetic students like mitch。 “have you ever really had a teacher? one who saw you as a raw but precious thing, a jewel that, with wisdom, could be polished to a proud shine? if you are lucky enough to find your way to such teachers, you will always find your way back。 sometimes it is only in your head。 sometimes it is right alongside their beds” (192) 。。。more

I’m not crying you are。。。this book has the power to change lives I think。 The lessons in this book are timeless and if we all took a little bit more time to love who knows how far we can go。 Just a truly touching and inspiring book。 Very easy read and is great to read aloud。

This book was life changing。 I took a break from it for some time, but I honestly gained so much。 People may dislike the novel, but I really felt like some of the morals were so important and I’m going to life my life those ways。

I finished this book about a few minutes ago and I’ve finally stopped sobbing enough to gather my thoughts for this review。 This book was just beautiful。 I don’t remember the last time I’ve felt so touched and enlightened by a piece of writing。 Mitch Albom wrote about Morrie in a way that makes me wish I knew Morrie myself, but I think one of the takeaways is that we all have someone in our lives who can teach us life’s greatest lessons; we just have to reach out and reconnect with them。 Cannot I finished this book about a few minutes ago and I’ve finally stopped sobbing enough to gather my thoughts for this review。 This book was just beautiful。 I don’t remember the last time I’ve felt so touched and enlightened by a piece of writing。 Mitch Albom wrote about Morrie in a way that makes me wish I knew Morrie myself, but I think one of the takeaways is that we all have someone in our lives who can teach us life’s greatest lessons; we just have to reach out and reconnect with them。 Cannot recommend this enough。 So many important life lessons that we can’t recognize ourselves and sometimes need someone to tell us。 And Morrie was able to teach those lessons in the most delightful and fulfilling way。 I can definitely see myself rereading this many times in the future。 I never want to forget this book。EDIT: it’s been over an hour since I wrote this but I just started crying again。 How did Mitch Albom make me feel like I knew Morrie so personally in just under 200 pages??? Maybe i’m overemotional (yes I am) but this book truly did touch my heart 。。。more

Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom is one of my favorite books by Mitch Albom。 Mitch Albom’s books never fail me。 The book is just too good to be true。 I enjoyed the book so much that I read it all in one sitting and after that i feel like my life is being renewed。 The words “Giving is living” and “Death ends a life, not a relationship。” successfully change my perspective of life。 This book will forever be my comfort book, the book that have a special place in my heart。

Short and powerful life lessons shared by a dying professor。 The wisdom, sincerity, and directness of the pages brought tears to my eyes。 May we find our meanings in life, and stay loving, responsible, compassionate, and forgiving。 "Love is the only rational act。" "Love or perish。" RIP。 Short and powerful life lessons shared by a dying professor。 The wisdom, sincerity, and directness of the pages brought tears to my eyes。 May we find our meanings in life, and stay loving, responsible, compassionate, and forgiving。 "Love is the only rational act。" "Love or perish。" RIP。 。。。more

This book is one of the first books I've ever annotated in because of how richly it is filled with things I could learn from Morrie himself。 If you're ever struggling to finish a read, I highly recommend picking up Tuesdays with Morrie because it's a simple read that's full of profound thoughts that explore many difficult aspects of life。 This book is one of the first books I've ever annotated in because of how richly it is filled with things I could learn from Morrie himself。 If you're ever struggling to finish a read, I highly recommend picking up Tuesdays with Morrie because it's a simple read that's full of profound thoughts that explore many difficult aspects of life。 。。。more
